Readings from Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s

The Biography of Sakyamuni Buddha

Welcome to the “Readings from Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s The Biography of Sakyamuni Buddha.” This podcast series brings you the  best of a popular book which not only documents the life of a wise  sage but also his timeless teachings. I am Juewei from Australia’s Nan Tien Institute. In each of the following 1 to 2-minute episodes, I will read aloud inspiring passages from the book. Not only will listeners come to appreciate the moving and deeply personal Buddha of the author, but also contemplate how this knowledge can be brought to life in daily habits for the benefit of all living beings.

The many accounts of the Buddha’s life are voluminous and exhaustive in their scope. Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s popular Biography of Sakyamuni Buddha was first published in 1955, with the tenth edition published in 1978, and the most recent reprint made in 2017 under the Complete Works of Venerable Master Hsing Yun. It was translated into English in 2013 by the Buddha’s Light Publishing in California.

I welcome you to reflect on the personage of the Buddha and find inspiration for the day through these readings.
